THROUGH KESTREL’S EYES

I am so excited. The sequel to “Back From Chaos” is finally in the capable hands of my editor,  Wendy Reis, and she has nothing but praise for it. I hope my readers agree with her assessment. Next step, after she has finished, is to send it to a ‘formatter’ so I can e-publish, as I am not good with computers. And getting the cover design done.

I am still toying with the idea of sending it to “TOR’ or a couple of other well respected Fantasy publishers. To be accepted there would be a dream come true. In the mean time I need to remain realistic. I just wish I knew that that means. And should I be looking for competitions to enter, keeping in mind that many are restricted to traditionally published authors. Thank goodness that is changing and more competitions are opening up to self-published authors.  All this takes courage.

It also takes skill to find those competitions and send my work in the format they require and go through the steps they ask for. All this will be new to me, but ‘life is for learning’ to quote an old saw, so I will learn.Thank you to all you wonderful people who encourage me to fly. I am grateful to all of you. You keep me sane. I will keep you all abreast of my progress.

This girl’s writing is a total joy to edit! I am getting downright spoiled.

Why not try Rhemalda or Hobbes End publishing? They’re smaller houses and some of the new authors I’ve been reviewing have been published through there. Both have member pages on Goodreads – check them out! And Good luck!

Good luck. Don’t forget the possibility of an e.book.

I am soooo excited to hear this news! Yvonne, good luck with the publishing….but hurry up! (just kidding) I’m dieing to read Earth’s Pendulum! I’m off to read Back to Chaos for the fourth time so I’m ready to continue on. hee hee It is soooo good!

For those of you that haven’t read it, you MUST! It is a book were you can put yourself in each characters shoes and live it like they are. So amazingly written!

Hope this finds you and your family having a marvelous summer. Miss you at the store!

Yvonne, don’t just toy with the idea of sending it to ‘TOR’. If that’s what you want to do, just do it! What have you got to lose? What’s the worst they could say? If it’s a ‘no’, then it’s a ‘no’. You can still go ahead and ePublish anyway. But imagine if they say ‘yes’! How cool would that be? Go on, send it to them. You know you want to. 🙂 I’ve read the extract on the ‘Just a Taste’ page of your website and it sounds enthralling.Go for it, Yvonne.

  8. Ruth Mountford says:

Yvonne knows how to weave a story that keeps the reader riveted! You feel like you know her characters and can share their anguish, joy, longing. i have a bit of an idea of what’s coming next – have tissues on hand.

  9. Wendy Reis says:

I agree with everything Ruth said! Looking forward to the third book in the trilogy!
