Saving Drake by J.D. (Dan) Mader

I’m still feeling raw. I just read Saving Drake in one sitting, something I rarely do, haven’t for years. Granted, it’s short. If it had been longer I would have missed sleep and food. They said Mader wouldn’t be able to write romance. His usual space is too dark and full of demons. He took the challenge – and won.  I don’t know anyone else can create characters so real, so average, so flawed, put them in such a ‘normal’ setting, have them face such regular challenges and still be so damned romantic. Mader ‘gets’ love. It’s the honesty that makes this what it is. And don’t get me started on the love scenes. Or the other relationships. Just read the book. Then you’ll know what I’m talking about. Anything else would be a spoiler.
