marketing and the muse

It is amazing to me how much time, energy and effort is required from me to market my novel. Even though feedback has been outstanding I still struggle to put myself out there and approach buyers and retailers, even my friends. The emotional effort required to do it has caused my muse to go into hibernation. I sit at the computer, new novel in front of me, and the words do not come. I know what I want to write. I have the story line, and in my head. I see the words, but when I sit here staring at the screen they abandon me. Sigh.

But just in the last two days I have received some wonderful comments from people I trust. One has even offered to write an official review for me. Many have told me that once they start they cannot put the book down. Some have lost sleep as a result. So why can I not take this in and bask in it? Why does it not inspire me to write, write, write?

Today is a new day. A new start. A new effort. I will let you all know how it goes. Any comments out there to share with me about your own experiences? I would love to hear them.
